Apprentice day

We welcomed potential apprentices to our office as part of our recruitment process who were challenged by having to configure a mechanical Jig/Frame. The apprentice candidates were given a set jig, which they had to copy to the best of their abilities under the guidance of Pete, our Project Manager who himself started his career as an apprentice with Woodford. Using the materials and tools provided they were able to complete the following tasks while building the frame: 

• Measuring and cutting pipework
• Installation of pipe clips at set measurements
• Pulling different bends on 15mm and 22mm copper tube
• Fluxing and soldering their joints
• Installing compression valves using the unique Woodford Fittings
