Meet Daniel, George and Daniel. This team look after a west London project for Woodford for one of our key clients, Barratts. They are working hard to keep up with a changeable programme across multiple blocks. Despite delays during the summer, we have kept up the pace and are now waiting for the client to give us the go-ahead on a big push of work that has been building for some time. Daniel is our Project Manager in training and he is eager to learn and impress on his first major project in charge. “I was delighted to be made up to Project Manager in February and am relishing the challenge.” Said Daniel from behind his mask in the site office. The whole site will be 100% mask wearing soon. “I have a great trainer who puts me through my paces and is making sure I learn all of the management skills and techniques that will help me continue to deliver in the Woodford Way. I have been at Woodford nearly 15 years and want to demonstrate I am ready for this next big step.” The project is for the infrastructure and fit-out of 600 units and Daniel talks about the pressure of balancing items in stock against work flow. “We need to be ready to get on with the next batch of units as soon as the client releases them to us but at the same time don’t want to keep too much stock – it’s wasteful to keep too much on site, but we must have enough to keep the plumbers busy when the work takes off!” We will revisit the team in a few month’s time to see what progress has been made.
