Continuous improvement is key here at Woodford. From our Apprentices through to our Senior Managers and Leaders, we all need to continue to grow and reflect on our journey. Our Apprentices have regular contact with our L&D Manager and she is involved in their PDR’s, their probation reviews and their complete journey from Apprentice to Plumber. We have just begun to deliver a quarterly development workshop to our 1st Year Apprentices, that covers non-technical learning on top of their college learning.

Our Managers have just begun a Management Development Programme that will take through 8 workshops, one a month. This will cover everything they need to be a World Class Manager, from performance management to time management and including a Belbin review on Team Behaviours and much more. We need to build trust amongst ourselves to have the courage to make the best decisions for our people and our projects.

On top of that we are also using our e-learning platform to deliver Equality and Diversity training to the whole workforce as well as other more job related courses, such as Fire Warden, Driver Awareness and Asbestos Awareness.

Our PDR’s will be completed this month and based on the feedback from staff so far we will also have a further suite of activities including Customer Relationship Management, Managing Effective Meetings, Presentation Skills, Influencing and Negotiating and Recruitment and Selection to name a few!

So a busy time in Learning and Development at Woodford and we do this to be the best we can be. We deserve it, our jobs and our clients deserve it and Together Everyone Achieves more.
