As with most large scale residential property developments, the energy centre at The Forge has 2 CHP units which make use of heat which would be otherwise wasted when generating electrical or mechanical power. This allows heat requirements to be met that would otherwise require additional fuel to be burnt. Following an unexpected leak in the plantroom, one of the CHP units was water damaged beyond repair. Following an investigation by Woodford FM, it was recommended that the CHP was replaced completely. With a very quick turn-around, Woodford FM managed to supply, install and commission a new CHP in a matter of weeks. The installation and commissioning was carried out in a single day using a specialist lift and shift company to remove and install the CHP in a tight plantroom. The new CHP is now fully operational and an crucial part of the heating systems integrity.
